... The wind started to pick up and the kite boarders and wind surfers came out of the woodwork. I think that this must be one of the better areas to partake in wind sports as the wind is both strong and steady. After watching the kite boarders from the top of the main dyke for a while, we rode home along the front of the dyke for around 3 kms. The dyke slopes down to the sea at an angle of around 45 degrees and is tarred. The ...

Today we decided to make a move up to the far north of Holland to a place called Lauwersoog. Five weeks is pretty bloody good considering we use the stove almost every night and cook "long" stuff like rice or pasta. Best investment we've made! We will hopefully fill it up tomorrow. A little guitar / blog after dinner, a wash up and then we broke out Prison Break.... Two episodes and we're hooked! 4 seasons should keep us ...

Happy Christening Jamie! We didn't wake till gone 9, despite a relatively early night. Lazy! Up, showered and decamped and off to Dokkum. Although it was only two nights, we've loved it here. It's very chilled and being off season, we've had an entire field to ourselves so Prego's not been corkscrewed once! We discovered the shop in town was shut so nipped back to the campsite shop to save having tinned ravioli for our one Dutch Zondag dinner! We got a few bits, ...
