... dark wood and high mildewed ceilings in the old part of town. My room was guarded by two mannequins dressed in traditional clothing. They didn't freak me out at all. The next day I decided to meet Peri and her friends in Kas, so I got to rest for a few hours on an air conditioned mini bus. Boring! But here are some pictures from that ...

... trappings of modern life. The most famous structure is the Temple of Athena which stands majestically against the backdrop of the blue sea.

    Kursunlu Waterfalls
A welcome reprieve after exploring sites in the heat of the day. Some pretty waterfalls and forest tracks to explore.

(So different to buying my 3 m x 4 m Kashmiri carpet which was lugged around India in my suitcase!!) We had supper last night in Umbrella Street . This is a street covered with hundreds of umbrellas. After leaving Egirdir (where travellers are few and far between), we arrived in Antalya, a large modern city on the Mediterranean. We are staying in the old town, where there are once again cobbled streets and not much traffic...but it is definitely a tourist town and a bit too upmarket for us! However, today we walked to the museum and it ...
