The view from the ship of traditional white houses with blue trim was unmistakeable Greek! We took a water taxi from the ship to Mykonos to walk around town and enjoy the picture-postcard views. The weather was slightly warmer than yesterday and we enjoyed a rain-free day. The sun actually shone brightly this ...

The fact that we had seen little of the island didn't overly play on our minds as we had used the time to relax and plan the next month of our trip in addition I think that we were a bit depleted when it came to caring about ruins, churches and temples.

Once in the town we dropped off our washing and were told it ...

We had a full day in Mykonos today!!

Large boats now dock at the new Port as opposed to the Old Port, but is only 5 minutes away on the local bus. Many of us caught the 10am bus to town and explored the churches, the famous windmills and the streets. The streets are all lime washed and painted bright white with colored doors etc and the town is really, really (and I mean REALLY) gorgeous! Very cosmopolitan. The season has not yet really begun ...

... it's so nice to have a hot breakfast instead of just my travel rations. Plan today is to wander the island shops with the other kiwi girls, and probably enjoying the beach in the afternoon. It's warm and relaxing watching the waves while eating my eggs, a good start to the day. Wandering town is nice, sunny, relaxed. I'm becoming very attached to slouvaki, basically just herbs on meat on a stick. Cheap and ...
