    The final bit

... we started watching the shore for approaching cars. An hour later---by now P and S had woken up, C had packed all our things and we had some breakfast---I got a call from Michaelis. He and two colleagues had reached the shore of the bay and I went to pick them up at a small pier next to a beach that would probably brim with life a few hours later. As we went back to the boat, I explained to him what had happened and what we suspected had been the problem. He ...

    Schinoussa to Paros

... I saw his point that he would rather spend the night on a fully functional boat. But I felt that even if the engine would turn on again after whatever action we would take, there was a chance that the engine would just have one of its spontaneous remissions and then go off again, perhaps on the rocky coasts halfway between Naoussa and Parikia. Day 32 Arrived at our lovely hotel close to the quiet little port and beach of Ornos, after a relatively short 2 hour ferry ride. ... to the ferry early after a 40 minute cab ride to Rafina port. I made myself comfortably uncomfortable on the cheap plastic 'students seats' and slept for two hours. The sun got pretty hot, so I woke up and read a book on the Kindle with Kelsey. The two of us read at about the same pace and have been breezing through books.

Upon (finally) arriving at Mykonos, the owner of our hotel was waiting with a sign to pick us up. The owner, Maria, was so sweet and ...

... port. The thought popped in our heads that this might be one big joke that they play on the tourists. Get them lost and frustrated so they pay out for ridiculous taxi prices to get to the beach... We finally found what they called the info centre. It was just a ticket office that couldn't provide any help. Eventually we found a bus stop. An Italian lady said that the buses destination was a beach so we have up on the idea of going to Paradise or Elia and went to ...
