Ok, so were finally here! YAAAY!
flight went ok besides the extremely chatty swede who sat next to dave, her bad breath wasn't helping matters either, eew!
We only managed to get half way over the sahara desert before the first travel scrabble argument broke out,
which resulted in our first purchase at nairobi airport, a dictionary. It was at this moment that we
realised we had a long trip ahead of us (..and that we better brush up on our spelling!).

... Kasarani), and my workplace, and how things work (but I don’t think that anyone can be totally sure)! Work has been slow, fascinating, frustrating, motivating, emotionally demanding, depressing, hilarious, complicated, head-ache inducing, testing, satisfying, infuriating, depending on what mood I’m in when you ask me, but it is nearly always rewarding. My colleagues have always made me feel welcome, that’s for sure. I do get such a buzz ...

Nairobi, Kenya ashling... immigration, and security guards have an immediate effect on you. For example, I paid my $25 single entry fee for the visa and had to get my own change before I got my passport back. I payed a $50 bill and the lady didn't have a $5 bill to give me. So she gave me a $10 and told me to go find some change. I thought it was kind of funny and found someone to give me 2 $5's and I got my passport back. Thankfully my bag arrived safe and sound at the ...
Nairobi, Kenya travel_lover87... departures were marked with a meal at Carnivore, a famous Nairobi institution once voted in the top 50 restaurants in the world, albeit back in the days when they were allowed to serve game meat such as kudu, waterbuck, warthog and the like. Nairobi, Kenya mike_bright... as our flight to Kenya was early Monday morning!). In the lounge I snoozed on a chair and we boarded our flight. We arrived in London about 12, midday and it was drizzling. We had 21 hours to kill before our flight tomorrow at 9.05am. We briefly thought about getting an airport hotel room but they started at 89 pounds and we thought nah we'll head into London and look around and return to the airport and sleep on a chair overnight. So off we went on the tube to London and ...
Nairobi, Kenya kasnsqueakJust a quick note from Kenya! I arrived safely last night. The flights were fine. Not much sleep on the planes, but easier traveling than my first two trips to Africa! I met another volunteer, Sandy, in London and we traveled together to Nairobi. We were met by a driver and there were two other volunteers from the UK that had also been on our flight. We were taken to a nice guest house, it is actually a ...
