We made a stop at the Pan de Pan bakery too. Definitely the hot spot in this town. That's where the most people were. It is the off-season after all I guess. They were all decorated for the Christmas season and they were playing English Christmas songs. It felt very homey. Amazing sweets, equally amazing atmosphere.

... very unexpected. They got me 2 cakes (1 chocolate, 1 angel food), a novel on cassette, a snowman that sings twinkle twinkle little star, some cookies, and some dessert shaped erasers. I'm very grateful I've met some great people here already!

... hiked through the bush if they weren't around. I made it to the waterfall and it wasn't as spectacular as I imagined. But it grew on me. It is the only place in the world with live magnesium growths. It's a hot spring waterfall so you can bathe in them and the water is quite nice. It was definitely worth the hike! There were five information signs (in English too) regarding the waterfall and all the research that is going on there. The growths only got discovered in 1989. Very interesting ...
