      ... is a 25 lb. sack of kibble, minus the dog food smell. In the morning we had our first good meal in a long time, sushi and saki, and slept again for the rest of the day.
      Sapporo is a big modern city (pop. 2 million) that has largely been rebuilt since the war. There's a small river running through town with green space on either side that provides a place to sunbathe, play baseball, walk your teeny tiny dog and even play golf on the two acre, 9 hole (par 1?) course. ...

      The Russells left on Monday and Chris took them to the airport alone because I was substituting at the international school. I got my lesson plans when I arrived and laughed when they told me I would be teaching math and science. I didn't let them know these are not my strong points but luckily the plans were easy to follow. The science classes were using computers to complete a project. One math class took a test and the other had some bookwork to complete.
