    Tuesday/Wednesday. June 30/July 1, 2015. PCT day 72/73. Miles 1084.2-1095 I am writing this journal entry on the day of my zero. I an in S. Lake Tahoe right now. I arrived here yesterday from the trail. The hike yesterday was easy. It was only 8 miles where the PCT crosses HWY 50. From there, it took me about 40 minutes to try to hitch a ride.     ... volleyball courts and restaurant. The water was crystal clear and quite warm (so the kids told us) they played in there for ages whilst Des and I sat and watched. Dinner was in the restaurant which was lovely and tasty then off course back around the fire for s'mores! The RV's here seem to out do any of the others we have seen so far. Most of them have outside kitchen/bars with beer pumps plus outdoor televisions where they all congregate to watch baseball. I SO want ...

    ... a worker the town is all owned by one man who owns the surrounding farmland and whose family has been here since the 1850's, who is doing it up. The general store is due to open in a months time while a blank sign outside one of the best homes in town looks ready to be painted as a B&B or some such. Just up the hill from the small hamlet you could see the springs that give the nearby area its greenery and richness.

    ... CA, and follows the Pioneer Trail Road, bypassing South Lake Tahoe to Hwy 50. Along the way, we also passed a section of the Pony Express Trail.     ... and looked over some of the ski runs in Heavenly, no snow and with the sun shining, it was still cold at 10,000 feet!

    There were Canada geese just lazing around on on the beach outside our hotel balcony, which sounds great but geese leave poo ...... And picking your way through the sandy mounds of poo wasn't all that great. Once again, the west coast provided us with some beautiful sunsets and I hope you're not getting bored ...
