I awoke this morning at 5am and looked out our room's window on the 18th floor to see beautiful white mountains. Took my shower got dressed and enjoyed a nice cup of hot coffee while waiting for Dave and Elisa to wake up.
Around 7:00am Dave and Elisa woke up and rolled out of bed about ½ hour later. We all admired the morning view with all the snow on the mountains.
After we all were dressed we went to venture out to find a restaurant here ...
... was suited for traveling by an RV, but we decided to chance it and we were glad we did.
It is a two lane highway in good shape for the most part. It climbs to almost 10,000 feet at the far eastern end, and then it’s a 12 mile descent to Rt. 395. There were some areas where it was a little narrow, especially when two RVs or a tour bus were passing each other.

... we reached the hamlet of Kyburz, we were in for a real treat. We wondered why we were seeing "road apples" on the highway and shortly thereafter, we saw an old fashioned wagon train making it's way slowly up the road with a police escort. Turns out that this was the 65th Annual Highway 50 Association Wagon Train. It originates in Zephyr Cove, Nevada ...
Another gorgeous day in Tahoe, although it went down to about 1 degree last night.....lesson learnt....thermals for bed tonight! Didn't take long for it to warm up this morning, probably about 27 today. We headed across the road for a hearty breakfast of crispy bacon, over easy eggs, toast and coffee. We were running low on supplies so took a taxi to Safeway and stocked up before ...
