      Jalen's Tahoe Trip

A travel blog entry by jalen on Dec 30, 2014

... too cold where every body part hurt so we called it quits early. We found out that Heavenly closed early too because of the conditions. Our plan was to take Jalen to see fireworks at Heavenly village on NYE but we cut the trip short and left NYE because of the horrible weather. It is way to cold, highs of 18. Jalen played a few minutes in the snow but not long because his face turned red. He really did enjoy the snow and kicking it and throwing it. He will have a blast in ...

... Tenaya Lake. What a beautiful mountain lake! We were able to park right by the lake so we stopped and let Beckett swim. The water was so clear and she really enjoyed herself. I would love to live near a lake like this. I could sit there for hours.

The descent down from Tioga Pass was a little bit of a white knuckle ride for me. The road was cut in the side of the mountain and of course there were no guard rails and the view from my side ...

      Heading to Sparks NV

A travel blog entry by theprocters on Jun 06, 2014

Sparks Marina RV Park is one of the nicest and cleanest parks we have ever stayed. Cost: 3 nights @ $119.00. It was also across the street from our friends' condo - Roger and Sharon Pechacek - our friends who just moved from Jojoba Hills. But the weather felt very hot, especially after living in the cooler mountain air for over two weeks. We also ...

... which looked a little rustic but located in a serene location across from the river. It wasn't hard to see that this area was a mecca for fishing. Another surprise was coming upon three real cowboys rustling cattle into outdoor pens. I was able to get a video of this incredible moment. Hee haw! Stopped in Markleeville (pop. 200) for lunch at the Deli Cafe and then toured the Alpine County ...

Another gorgeous day in Tahoe, although it went down to about 1 degree last night.....lesson learnt....thermals for bed tonight! Didn't take long for it to warm up this morning, probably about 27 today. We headed across the road for a hearty breakfast of crispy bacon, over easy eggs, toast and coffee. We were running low on supplies so took a taxi to Safeway and stocked up before ...
