... of my Exchange friends are going to Ireland for a few days soon, but I decided not to join since I've just been there. Everybody keeps asking what I'm doing for Christmas. My housemates are mostly going home since they're all locals. A few have invited me home with them, which is really sweet. I'm not sure though yet what I'll do. It is still awhile away. Most of my exchange friends won't be going home either, so we may just have an orphans Christmas together.

... city centre. I went on a shopping trip to get all the essential items and we had a fun time trying to carry everything home on the bus.
There are two weeks worth of welcome events coming up. I suppose I should go to my classes too.... :) I'm taking 'Spanish', 'The Modern Hispanic World' and 'Colonisers, Convicts and Consumers'. I am excited to start classes again as it has been over 3 months since I finished Autumn semester back home. ...

Next stop was the Hull History Centre. They have lots of books about the local area, microfilm of GRO indexes (births deaths and marriages), local papers and books of inscriptions from burial grounds all around the area.

I had Arthur’s death certificate and within an hour of looking up death notices in the local paper, I had 20 names added to my family tree with his children, grandchildren, sister in laws etc.

Their mirth soon made sense as we drove into the very rural are of Humbleton Parish with it’s tiny roads and villages of maybe 100 people.

We visited the villages of our ancestors including Humbleton parish church where many of my ancestors were baptised and some even buried.
