... my farewells to the staff that I have ran into over the days and left. The driver to the airport went a very nice a rich way to the airport passing through all the wealthy part of town to give me a great state if mind and reflection I can give to others. We reached the airport at midday. It took about 2 hours going through customs ...

... the items as we know there are going to be a lot of steps to traverse on our travels. She longs to be able to travel just with a carry-on bag but can't quite make it this trip. Only light clothes are being packed and we are thankful that at last we are travelling in Summer and so no heavy coats, jumpers and shoes. Yah!

Brisbane to LA then to Seattle

... work. Got through customs slowly and then over to departure section 5, gate 54b. Plane was late so we boarded at 11am arrived in Seattle at 1.30 then it began.... Picked up our rental car, a Jeep Grand Jerroky top of the line. Nice! Then...... What a balls up!! Arrived in Seattle went to the hotel listed on my docs..... Unknown at this hotel, the Cedarbrook Lodge. Rang Royal Carribean found out ...

... of assorted socks, jocks and chargers ready for my bag. "You can't take all that Dad!" Huh? "I need your bag for this extra stuff I'm taking back." Oh. I watch sadly as my little collection of oddments is reduced to one sock, the chargers, and my shaver. "You can get more stuff in Canada you know." So I watch forlornly as my small bag is swapped for a larger one, and it is filled with an assortment of toys from Kirsty's childhood that are being passed ...

So it was time to hit the road again and after the week sorting and cleaning the van (thanks John for the work on the van) we were ready to rumble! We are feeling very lucky to have this opportunity and are looking forward to the second half of our trip. The road South........

After a slightly emotional farewell saying goodbye to Lizzie we hit the Logan Highway.
