... the company who told him to continue (2 tyres each side & so balancing on the one) for 30 mins when we stopped, all stayed in bus, tyre changed & off to Naples. Wow traffic chaos but fun. Boiling hot, people jumping out of cars to walk, scooters everywhere, all windows down so everyone could talk as they passed each other....mad but friendly! Lovely old world hotel on waterfront "Grand hotel vesuvio" Nice way to finish this years ...

... up and down this ridge for a few hours and ignored directions so we could make it back which we did 4 hours later after about 18 kms. But we did find the path where we should have gone up as we were coming down it! Ended up in the pretty fishing village, Acciaroli, after 41/2 hours walk in the hot sun but we were lucky to have the odd coastal breeze occasionally and headed straight for a gelati shop on the marina in the town , plonked down and stayed there for about 2 hours. This trip has been a bit messy getting from place to ...

... the wrong one! And crazy looks from locals when we told them where we had walked from...and this was only 2 hours of walking! Temperature rising, hottest July day for 10 years, well into 30's, climbed for 2 hours through rugged countryside finding the odd bit of yellow paint when painted on a rock or tree, at a beautiful hotel restaurant called a palazzo and plonked down, shoes off and lots of cold drinks. Took off ...

... concern has been the weather....too hot.  I believe our concern has been justified. It is very hot already.  Temperatures to be in the 30's all week so let's hope no hotter.  We will just have to leave early.  Not easy for me being the night owl. The good thing about these walks is finding all these hidden parts of the world we would otherwise never learn about. Paestum, just arrived here from Naples, below Salerno, to find ...
