      ... 5 hours to go. The train splits when we cross over into Sicily, so we have to ensure we're in the right half of the train, which currently I don't think we are. The best thing about travelling is that your problems are no longer about life, but about gritty things, like how do I get food in this country? or in our case now, am I on the right train?       ... experience….dimly lit pastel colored buildings, old narrow cobblestone streets, little store windows lightly lit to show their valuable contents and a small church with a beautiful spire and a Roman column marking the front entrance. It was we were walking into a postcard picture of a quaint, ancient little town! As we wandered our way towards the town center we marveled at the clean streets and the antiquity that surrounded us.

      ... raving about the marvelous dinner... We called Manuel, who came to take the third chop down for himself. "Oh la-la! This is too much for me.... Are you sure?"       Boy, last night it was so cold, I felt as if it might snow! Each of us had our warmest woollies on, and sweatshirts most of the night. According to Jacques it is always cold in Palinuri.... Maybe the cool winds comes down from the mountains, and meet the sea air, and the result is shivering cold at night. It was so cold, I could not sleep topside. I was even truly cold sleeping in my cabin. Our day began at 7:00a.m., as we took up the anchor, and made our 3-hour run ...
