A stupidly early start today, with 6.45am up, 7.15am bags out and departure at 8.30am...how long does it take to eat breakfast? So after breakfast of buffet stuff we went back to the room to kill time and played Phase 10. We hopped on the bus and got a "bonus" tour of Newcastle which wasn't terribly stimulating..but yeah..
So we travelled for a little bit and it wasn't long before we were at the border of Scotland called Carter Bar. The weather was ****** and it was raining and windy, but...
It was a reluctant get up this morning after watching way too much tv late last night and reaping the consequences this morning. I managed to get up and have breakfast whilst Dan was very sluggish to get up and missed breakfast completely. We hopped on a bus, which wasn't our bus as it was getting serviced, and as a result there was one less row of seats, and we ended up having to sit at the back rather than the front. I was pretty ropable. Not about sitting at the back, but the seat that th...

Fun trip to Murrayfield for Scotland v Fiji.....lots of happy Scottish faces after the win, boys in fancydress, stag parties galore, chuc-chucs ferrying folks home in the rain, great cocktails in an Italian Jazz bar and running to catch last train back home on a busy busy Saturday night train heading South.

Yes it appears rail is actually faster than somethings,
well in the UK anyway.

A large chunk of the money for the project was raised through a Lottery and HM the Q, opened the Wheel in 2002. Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom just_two_of_us... remarkable how this account of Rob Roy’s life was so drastically different from that which was portrayed in the movie. I felt slightly disappointed to learn that the real life Rob Roy[3] wasn’t the same noble and honorable character Liam Neason played. Ditto with William Wallace. It’s good to know the real facts, but considering how much I *love* both of those characters as they were played on screen, I couldn’t help but feel let down. It’s like ...
Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom jonesinmybones... litter the country with the odd town here and there. We ventured though the town of Glencoe - where in 1692 the McDonalds were massacred on order of the King at the time - to make an example of the Highlanders who were having Clan issues with the Sovereign. The head of the execution squad was an Argyle and with a surname of Campbell. For over 400 years Campbells have been known in these parts as cold blooded killers ...
Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom masonsineurope... Irish guy and an Aussie. They were very entertaining. You can go to idareya.com and see some of the pranks. At the end we all wrote down dares and voted on the best one that they were going to do the next day. My dare, which was unfortunately voted second best and they only do the top voted one, was to wear a pink tutu and go into a scottish kilt shop and yell that real men wear tutu's not stupid girly kilts. The dare that won was to dress up like the ...
Edinburgh, United Kingdom ryanscott... winking...LOL Me and Fil also did alot of bike riding around Krakow. On Tuesday May 24th we took the trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau, WOW what a moving experience. What really got me and what I will NEVER EVER forget about it was the pile of hair that was on display, it was HUGE! It really made the whole think a reality because until then it was just objects and pictures but here there was hair , actual human hair, and the smell of it ..... it smelled of mothballs ( but not completely ...
