... but we are getting there.

The trade off is we are in a beautiful environment. Very dry air, and hard water. Altitude also affects the temperature water boils at, and how long things take to cook. Soft boiled egg is 6 minutes. Fortunately there is an App to help with such things. Also means that hangovers can arrive early and hit hard. Possible due in part to dehydration, but alt also contributes to less oxygen in the blood. Up and down stairs is often hard ...

Every so often the clouds would lift and we would rush to unsheath our cameras and snap what we could of the massive snow capped peaks in ...

Oops, no notes again! Refuge Elena quite new and modern. Large dorms but partitioned into bunks of 4. Located on a high ridge overlooking the valley, where we had a long break and arvo tea. Met some interesting groups of Italians, see the funny hats. It seems that all of Italy has these 2 weeks off, so the trails and refuges are full. Dinner in a lovely dining room, food pasta as usual. ...

So as my mother said I haven't posted in a while thought I ought to add a little note.
After the excitement of Christmas we had the craziness of New Year's Eve with champagne bottles in the gutters and fireworks in the crowd life has mellowed a little for 2013. Resort has emptied out significantly, our chalets are still busy but overall there are less people here which is great for piste time! I've discovered the lovely slopes of Savoleyres. ...
