... my friends.
I try to take as many photos of the area while up here, and my friends are looking for me. I always have to walk much ahead of them as I don’t want them to spoil the photos. Usually I am asked to take them photos, and they stand posing, which is something I want to avoid.
Actually I am trying to find a fine spot, to take a picture of my travelpod pot.
... was very friendly and helpful. The local beer was very nice. Keo. The waiter showed us some other places on our map to go visit while we walked around. Had a look at a local fruit and vege market which was quite good but much the same as ours only with a few different products like dates, little fish etc. Headed back on the shuttle at 2pm which was long enough. Had a rest and then went to Oasis to watch sail out. Clocks back 1 hour and I don't know why.
Limassol, Cyprus stephgraeme... way out is to go to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and try and get a ferry to main land Turkey. We have tried asking people in the Republic about this, but this is taboo. No one in the Republic (except our drunk hostelier, who really doesn't give reliable information) will talk about Northern Cyprus let alone tell you how to get out of there.
OH! and by the way the rule is ...
... hard to find a
church, although in retrospect we could have tried a bit harder. We
got into Limassol and once again struggled a bit trying to find the
hotel but we managed. We went out for a wander and lunch and then
had a leisurely afternoon by the pool. That night we discovered the
old castle and tried the meat mezze. It was a nice night and
Limassol proved to be a worthwhile stop in Cyprus.
... Some of the shallow baths had elaborte tile pictures on the bottoms which in their day would have been gorgeous, great attention to detail. We stopped for wine, bread & cheese tasting at a little village in their wine country called Omodos. After that we had a quick look through the shops with their various arts, crafts and jewellery. They specialise in lace work. There was also a ...
Limassol, Cyprus hazdeb... best mosaics !!! Pafos was quite horrid again, but the mosaics are good. This time we visited the fort, good views of the water !!! The Royal Tombs had not changed, actually I missed some last time, so it was good to return. We kept driving till we hit the far left corner, and there it was, Aphrodite's pool. Small, uninteresting, but there were two eels in it !!! To get back we decided to go across the mountains. For over two ...
Limassol, Cyprus uncle_davros... in another week as the exchange rate is better now. It's something like $1.98 NZ dollar to $1 US. He plans to move there and start a business but he can put his money there before he actually moves. Anyhow, I asked Richard what Maria's office phone number is and he gave it to me. it was the same that I had, so I called again and again I got 'the number is incorrect.' I don't see how Maria can do good business. I think ...
Limassol, Cyprus richlion... stopped at an enclosure accomodating some Mouflons - a sheep-goat animal that is apparently unique to Cyprus. They are very shy but we spotted some after a while. We arrived at Kykos for lunch & had a delicious good-value meal at the cafeteria. This place is set up to process coach-loads of tourists. A benefit of coming off-season, there weren't any! There were quite a few people but not a ...
Polis, Cyprus anneowens... by taking a bus. If you are young and adventurous, there are the mopeds and motorcycles. Many young Cypriots ride motorcycles. There would be the rent, but if you plan to go to many places it will pay you. But the motorcycle is out of the question for most people. For city to city travel there are special buses that go, for example, Larnaka to Limassol, or Larnaka to Nicosia. It sure beats a private taxi. OK, so ...
Limassol, Cyprus richlion... DAYS IN KAKOPETRIA
Relaxing week, enjoying my 2 hour walks in the afternoon, not knowing that a week later the whole area where we live in Greece would catch fire, and our house would have 13.000 euro damage!
We left Cyprus urgently, and flew back when my son announced what had happened. We caught the first flight and return urgently to Athens ...
