... one foot pinning the not-very-briefs to the ground like some sort of floor mopping rag.

At least it did not rain, and so we did not have to sit through an infield tarp debacle such as the one I described here, last year.

I really should not complain, however; we walked up to the ticket window prepared to decide how much money to spend on tickets, when we were informed that all tickets tonight were $3, and there would be fireworks. You get what you pay for.

In the end, we got to the campground at about 6:45, only to have to drive back into town (only 2 miles) to get firewood, as they don't sell it in the park. We ate dinner at 9:30, but we ate it—fire roasted sweet potatoes and grilled salmon with mango-tomato-jalapeno salsa. It was quite delicious.

While Tim was getting the fire going, I toddled off to another part of the park ...

  • Bethel Baptist Church puts on a Bethel Blast every 4th of July. They furnish pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, rolls, bottled water, soda, various desserts and watermelon. Local bands play in the big tent and fireworks at dark thirty. All this is free! ...

... blogging done as Aaron has an afternoon nap. Cheryl and Dave get some yard work done as well and by this time it was late afternoon, 4-5pm. Grandma came back over and greeted us with a photo album, I instanstly knew this was going to be funny. We opened it up and looked at all the old photos of Amy, Me, Mum, Dad and the rest of our relatives that made appearances in the photos. I went through some of the Wedding photos with Grandma too, however she was a tad distracted ...

... needed one. Grandma rang and wanted to show Aaron and I Kingsport’s main attraction that was to be opening soon which was a Carousel that was hand made and carved. At first, I was not interested as it just sounded a little bit weird and lame, but I figured it was spending time with Grandma that I wanted to do, so we went and did it with her.
