      Last day on the slopes

... in my robe. Mrs Klammers, the owner, ushered me back out of the dining room with mention of dress code. I thanked her sincerely.

Tonight was to be light-graffiti night. I had finger torches and had not yet used them. We gave Mrs Klammers one set, she seemed amused.

Down at fest alm armed with finger torches, we had a lovely evening bantering. New great friends and acquaintances from the week coming up to say it’s been a pleasure, see you next ...

... than infectious, it makes you feel great. What a hero. I found this all very tiring. Hugh reminded me that I have lucozade tablets, they were necessary, I was crashing. Perked up I let out a sigh “get on with it, what do you think you are on a holiday or something?” Hannis prompted.

Windy afternoon back with Julian, this meant no return visit to the fun park as planned and just freestyle practice at lower altitudes, great ...

Snowboarding day 4 - jumps in the park

Much as the majority of my snowboarding career has been either learning how to not fall over or how to fall better; now I can see that as a freestyler: I am gaining new abilities to hurt myself and would ...

      Snowboarding day 3

A travel blog entry by don.vince on Jan 27, 2015

... I found people in the fest alm attempting to pick up a Jšgermeister from the floor, with their mouth, and without bending their knees. Other heroics were a big fella bench pressing a woman while standing up. The cover band were great again, I found several members of my class and danced. After midnight it was Patrick’s birthday, I gave him a piggyback to collect high fives from everyone. Went home with Mark, Garry must have snuck off to bed ...

      Snowboarding day 2

... time with a few people. And a bar. Hurrah, the Slovenian bar staff from fest alm are drinking in here tonight, I seem to recall them being great fun: memory was accurate, they are great conversation. I got distracted for a couple of hours first however talking to a Bosnian chap. Deeply interesting fellow doing his best to describe to me the intricacies of Balkan ethnic groups. He predicted another Balkan conflict within the next ...
