... a few week early for that. Just out of town is the main ski resort of the town, we went up there to see if there were any good views of the local mountains. There were some good views, but the highlight was watching Adam fall face first into the snow whilst trying to jump over a tiny ditch. Best of all was I caught the whole thing on video, that’s £250 from You’ve Been Framed!
That night we went for dinner at a tiny restaurant in town ...

This little town ranks right up there with our favourites. We looked at buying property here two years ago, but since the folks fron Calgary have discovered it , prices have gone thru the roof. what used to be $15000 ten years ago is more like $500000 now, crazy.
... was crazy you could see right across the Rockies for miles and miles truly breath taking.
On another day off Patricia took me for a hike to Cliff Lake and again amazing views and a glacier lake which we both jumped into, my god it was proper cold.
it was a real shame to leave the ranch as i could of stayed a while longer, aah well this is one place i would to come back to and i am sure i will.. cheers Trish...
Crossed the Rockies, left Jasper National Park behind as we travel through the Kootenay region, past Fort Steele and stop at Cranbrook. Hope the truck is ready as promised tomorrow, we will drive to Kalispell once more and re-visit Eureka MT on the way. What gorgeous weather we have been granted!

together with the current locals wearing the costumes of the day and giving the
whole town a fantastically realistic atmosphere. The kids loved it and
especially the local steam train, which went on a half a hour trip out to the
surrounding countryside. Unfortunately we arrived late in the afternoon and missed all the activities laid on during the day. This is a recommended stop especially as eveyone has worked *************struct the cowboy era.
... cycling up to the lakes. The following day we hiked up to the top of the gondola mountain. At 2350 meters it was a sweet view. Later that night we met the Irish couple and had a whiskey and beer. Then came the rain and the following day was the proper stat of our journey.
The trail started off climbing an old forest road, used for walking, cycling and horses. It climbed and climbed. After it climbed some more and my legs were burning it leveled ...
... avoid being eaten. In the main these instructions related to the handling and storage of food and some appeared incredibly stringent. I learned that bears could smell food traces off items of clothing. I learned that bears love the smell of toothpaste. By the time I'd finished reading I was seriously alarmed. I went to look for the warden. I found out that there was no warden. In fact the campground was largely deserted with just three trailers spread out over a couple of ...
Fernie, British Columbia, Canada fintanOur plan was to stay at the Same Sun Hostel in Fernie...but we got lucky and friends of Carol's who have a weekend home there let us stay in their house. So we had a great big house all to ourselves. They affectionately call the house "The Shack by the Track" as it is literally right beside the passing trains. I didn't mind the trains at all.....and we were right across the street from the Fernie aquatic centre. Our plan in Fernie was not just to ski but to look ...
Fernie, British Columbia, Canada genkigoddess... and broke so I stayed back to watch a movie. Around 10 I started to smell something funny so I took a turn about the apartment to make sure everything was okay. Seconds later I heard heavy stomping in the hallway so poked my head out the door cautiously as I was already wearing my pjs. What a surprise to see several fireman running down the hall and heavy smoke hanging in the air. I ran back to grab a pair of jeans and ...
