We found our way back into Oxford and paid the exorbitant parking fee, then went for a wander around this beautiful city. Around every corner was a fabulous building, or a garden among the university grounds. We climbed a tower and got a bird's eye view, visited Christ Church, and even visited briefly the Ashmoleum museum - free entry - before the meter ran out. Oxford is where Inspector Morse is set and also was the inspiration for Alice ...

... towards the Bristol Chanel. It was such a tough day, with climbs way tougher than anything on the coast to coast, it's very hard for me to say whether I really enjoyed it at times. However, this day will always be one of my most epic rides. I'd have big respect for anyone who can ride the coast of Exmoor in a day, even without the preamble from Weston to ...

My host Howard put on a hearty feast of chicken stew, noodles and chocolate brownie cake. Delicious! Thanks ...

We arrived at the smallest island on the planet (well maybe not by Guinness book of records facts, but it was still small). It only had one hotel, a small pool and a couple of hammocks. I say hotel loosely as it was more of a reception room, come bar, come kitchen with a room above it filled with bunk beds on it. Despite the description sounding more like a night being locked up in a deserted prison, it was actually paradise. There was only 8 of us staying on the island ...

... museum and of course The Beatles Story museum. I just couldn't skip the latter and it was a real joy for a dedicated fan :) The History exposition is very full, with real musical instruments, pictures, documents and even the interior of The Cavern rebuilt in actual size. The "Fab4-d" video show is a very good add-on, with rocking chairs, flashes, bubbles and spills of water (you'll understand when you'll attend it). Owner of the hostel where I stayed (see ...
