Manta Queen 1 just came back today from the first great 4 day trip to the Similan islands. Bringing nice pic's and videos, will upload them soon.

Also I will soon move to my new office in Bang Niang in the Beach road, just waiting for the last Furnitures :-)
Khao Lak, Thailand khaolak.scuba... a tuktuk driver we then headed to Ao Nang. Our hotel was a bit tucked away from the chaos of Ao Nang. This is an over developed area and clearly the sewerage system can not cope- the stench is incredible. This also is the cause of the pestering you get. WE found a Thai-run restaurant with a killer Tom Yam soup to cure my cold and quickly retreated to our hotel.
Ao nang, Thailand kingsandemsYesterday we went on a trip we had signed up for - diving from Peter Pan liveaboard boat...we were pickedup from our hotel at 7am sharp!!!...and than taken over to a town North of Khao Lak where the speedboat left from. The weather wasnt exactly the best for being on a sea, wind was strong and waves were immense...the 1,5hr trip on a speedboat was quite an adventure even though less of the one that came after getting out of the speedboat and onto the big boat...at some point I ...
Khao Lak, Thailand sanita79... experience. It was basically one large floor with two rows of mattresses set up next to each other with no space in between the mattresses. There were numbers on the wall which told you which was your space. But the numbers were spaced very close to each other--maybe big enough for a normal Thai person, but not for all the humongous Westerners sleeping on the boat. Jeremy and I were barely able to lay on our backs ...
Khao Lak, Khao Lak, Thailand connieyc... as ko lanta but the room is way way nicer with tiles and clean sheets. only downside is there is no mossie net and i have been savaged from the moment i got here, particularly on my feet yet again. last night i just went to a small restaurant next door where i ordered the glass noodle salad, little realising its main ingredient is 2 full chilis of the local variety (fresh from the market). i can safely say that even after 3 ...
Khao Lak, Thailand mathieu.parceva... Oonagh (another travelling companion) and GL B stepped up to the plate. I should maybe explain that this was GL B's first Jungle trek, and it had taken him this long to push aside the protocol / Thai custom that he shouldn't be doing anything without his superior, GL A who was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, telling him to do so first. Anyway, by putting my arms around their shoulders I then proceeded to hop my way along the ...
Phu Toei National Park, Thailand travellingjools... braving the Thai streets/traffic. As it turned out I was just fine if a little nervous from time to time but was totally and utterly lost most of the day! I didn't really realize how much you rely on being able to read street signs or even store signs to use as land marks until I came here. Without them and combined with the completely unplanned maze that make up the roads and little Sois (small roads no bigger than a single small car width) in this country it can be a bit of a ...
Chiangmai, Thailand hawksman12... is. I don't know, so we watch the fireworks and set a khrathong off together. When we get back, Jan shows up. He ended up as the official photographer for a ceremony with the governor and other uniformed officials...in a red, banana t-shirt. Our godmother offers us each a present because we are like her children. The 3 of us dance a traditional dance in front of the guy playing piano. Jan and I follow as ...
Sukothai, Thailand dirtylee... no time, had it been me doing it we would still be standing along the road wondering how to work the pump. The next day I woke up and felt like a battered piece of meat. My hands were sore from gripping onto the handlebars, my thighs quivered at the slightest movement and my bum - OH - my bum. My derriere was in a serious bad way. Sitting down was painful, standing wasn't much better and laying down was the preferred position either. So we ...
