Manta Queen 1 just came back today from the first great 4 day trip to the Similan islands. Bringing nice pic's and videos, will upload them soon.

Also I will soon move to my new office in Bang Niang in the Beach road, just waiting for the last Furnitures :-)
Khao Lak, Thailand khaolak.scuba... surprised by how many dead coral we kept seeing... way more than we saw in India. While the diving was awesome and we saw a lot of cool stuff I feel like the coral and sheer amount of school of fish was much better in India. The owner of the company we went with is German and coincidentally, so were the rest of the passengers on board. It was really odd not being able to understand any of the conversations and there were a few frustrating ...
khao lak, Thailand carrienica05... then the first dive of the next day is at 7am. The similan islands are absolutely beautiful for snorkeling and diving and if any of you end up out on this side of the world, i recommend a few days out here. on the relationship front i am still happily single. ninny and i have talked occasionally over the phone but i have come to realize that i dont want to go back down that path again so its sort of a ...
khao lak, Thailand nealinthailand... silvery spider-webs laced through the bamboos dipping to the water. I stayed at the Nom Family Bungalows a stone's throw from the beach, they are simple and comfortable and at 700 baht a night very cheap. I ate authentic southern Thai food at the unprepossessing Nom Family Restaurant at a fraction of a hotel restaurant prices. Khao Lak offers a holiday away from it all with unforgettable experiences and people.
Khao Lak, Thailand rhondda... costs up the road. I'll check it to see about getting to the islands. Meanwhile it's actually good for my ankle to be here, resting mostly. this morning it didn't hurt, looked a little less swollen, and I could walk almost like normal. I can see the bruises faintly forming under the skin. I really think swimming in the sea is helping. It lets me and rewards me by letting me walk at a normal pace again. I hope I can hike and surf and cycle when I get back. For now ...
Khao Lak, Thailand julix... intentional attempt to bypass the phrase "Forsaking all others"! Then there was superb food and excellent champagne, accompanied by traditional Thai musicians playing what sounded very much like Gamelin music. Later, much later, we were all down on the beach for another traditional Thai custom [borrowed from the Chinese]. It involves lighting a flame inside a 3' high, 2' diameter bottomless calico lantern; holding the lantern until it has heated ...
Khao Lak, Thailand parry... I had bought the previous day in Tesco. 2. It then transpired that neither GL A or B had the first clue how they were going to get me out of the jungle. They carefully explained that there was no telephone signal in the jungle (no **** Sherlock ...) so unfortunately there was no way of contacting anyone to let them know there had been an accident and no way of getting any help. A few obvious questions ... What about radios? Satellite phone ...
Phu Toei National Park, Thailand travellingjoolsWell folks, another week has come and gone so I thought I would update the blog. I have really enjoyed my time in Chiangmai Mai this past week! Now I can see why this city is so popular! It is big enough and geographically well suited to enjoying all that Thailand has to offer without the utter chaos of Bangkok. It is also considerably cooler here most days which for me is a huge bonus! I managed to find a nice guest house for the two weeks I plan to stay in the area in a good price ...
Chiangmai, Thailand hawksman12It's early when I sit in the guesthouse restaurant for a drink. The lady at the front desk comes over and tells me that many people are waiting for space and do not have rooms and asks if I can share with my friend. I just check out. I go straight to the Old City and sit with the masseuses. I can't get a massage, but one of them braids my hair. I wander around the ruins and waste all my film. I look through the ...
Sukothai, Thailand dirtylee... and is viewed as the golden age of Thai civilisation. I had to go and see it, nothing like old buildings to get this old girl excited. After the bus ride that nearly broke the camels back I checked into a delightful guesthouse called Bam Thai in New Sukhothai, 15 kilometers from the Historical Park. A father and son team from Belgium run cycling tours from the guesthouse and getting on a bike for the day seemed like a smashing idea to get ...
