DAY FIFTEEN

... as it had gotten dark just before the rain hit. The hotel lobby was warm and welcoming. We checked in and rode our bikes in the pouring rain to our rooms which, unfortunately, had outside entrances.

We were cold and tired. We quickly decided to meet in the lobby at 6:00am for an early start on the home stretch. Bed came quickly and falling asleep was no problem at all.

... it takes him 2 hours on a motorized mower where you sit on, of course, to cut the grass. We had two very memorable days with them catching up with all the happenings of years gone by. Mary spoiled us with some great meals and baked desserts. Luckily Richard is also a F1 fan, so we where able to watch the Belgium Grand Prix. That was a race I would not liked to have missed. ... fruits and vegetables. They also have a little cafe where you can buy a sandwich if you like, or one of my favorite treats, peach ice cream!

We've breezed right through Montgomery, Alabama's state capital, and we are well on our way to Birmingham, Alabama, where I went to law school. I will have to keep close track of our miles so we don't miss the barbecue and the Vulcan statue there!

... head to the bath house which was a storm shelter. After the alarm goes off she told me to listen for a voice that would notify us what the alarm was for. For tornadoes, head for the shelter. Heavy rain and hail will set off the alarm but we don't have to go to the shelter. Yikes! Let's hope there is no alarm ringing tonight. I am impressed that the camp host took the time to come out to great us at 8:30pm. We plan ...
