    ... Square is the river walk and Mississippi River. Along the river is the Creole Queen which is the last paddleboat/steamboat on the Mississippi. We didn't do it, but they provide daily cruises on the river. Just beautiful.

    As we travelled throughout the French Quarter, I can visualize what it must be like during the Mardi Gras.....the buildings are so beautiful and many of the balconies are loaded with gorgeous flowers. ...

    ... town. Enroute, we had to drive through a long area of trapped water from the same storm that flooded New Orleans. The workers had a pump running, but it was a slow process. The roadway was restricted to only one lane. At least we got Shorty’s wheels washed… if the water hadn’t been so dirty!


    The park, Buccaneer State Park was virtually wiped out by Katrina. It has a wonderful water park, but as of now, no water. ...
