Mosquitos and scorpions

A travel blog entry by famlitz on Oct 26, 2015

Blue skies, no clouds and three mosquito bites. What a way to wake up. But I would rather wake up to a mosquito bite than being bitten by a scorpion. We killed a second one last night. Not quite an animal you want to have closer contact with. Karsten made menemen for breakfast and we were indecisive what we wanted to do. First we ...

I decided to venture out to the old town today. I met a couple in the airport who had been here 15 or 20 times and keep coming back. They said that they stumbled across the old town accident one day after being here five times already. October 10. We are heading to Turkey. Unlike our other travel days, we don't need to be up early as our flight to Athens and then onto Istanbul is not leaving until late morning. All is well...we and our luggage are checked through all the way to Turkey so we only have to go through a passport control and security in the Athens airport. Our flight to Istanbul is on ...

You Haven't Been to Rhodes Unless You Go to Lindos

... Once again, the small streets and lanes are full of tourist shops and restaurants. The merchants here are not in need of sales as the prices are much higher than in Rhodes Town. Overlooking Lindos is an Acropolis. We follow the crowds up and up until we get to the entrance. Then is it many more steps until we are at the top of the site, with amazing views over the town and the sea.
