A day on Crete, enjoying great mild weather, some 4,000 year old culture, fruits of the forest, home made wine and our first ever swim in the Mediterranean. Not a bad life. Another city (Heraklion) shut down by protests, this time students against police violence. We teamed up with our kiwi posse and hired a convoy of taxis that did a few of the sights. ... during which the coach thermometer showed it dropped from 29 to 21 degrees. There was the obligatory cafe stop which added at least 25 minutes to the journey. Barry came back to the coach though with a Turkish Eye for me.
No rep at the hotel or on the coach, just a CD the driver played as we approached the airport.

... corner who cooked me a very nice mince meat flat bread. Just after lunch the rain started, very heavy with loud thunder thrown in. The hotel had a power cut. They got the lifts going again fairly swiftly but wifi was out for the day. After the downpour we walked up to the old village which was much quieter but more run down.
