... the idea of naming pets ridiculous!) but we don't think we'll be able to smuggle him home. We'll miss him.
Ant's hair is starting to look a bit odd. The barber 'kinyozi' shops here only seem to have one look - shaved, so we decided to buy a pair of scissors and now I'm his official "stylist". Not sure what you'd call this style but maybe it'll catch on one day...
Right, best be off; need to go and book this bus!
Take care all.

... host family!!But we will get to see them all on Monday - when all the hard work begins. No more sipping cocktails, and there have been a few, by the pool, no more three course buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and no more hot water, double beds (that each boys.....). But we have managed to get sun burnt today, even though we had factor 40 - in our bags and not on our skin. The people here are so lovely and intelligent ...
mombasa, Kenya michelle02... huge herds come many predators so we were lucky enough to bump into lions around what felt like every corner. Unfortunately they were more often than not accompanied by a mini-bus or two full of tourists with mighty big zoom lenses. Throughout the whole morning the herds were showing some very promising signs of moving towards the Talak river getting prepared to cross but they just ...
Mombasa, Kenya dusted... lit water hole meant you could sit and watch the animals all night if you wanted. On our last day in Kenya we spent it at Bombolulu Workshops & Cultural Centre (a project of The Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya) - http://www.apdkbombolulu.com/EN/index.h tml. It was an amazing and a most memorable day. Our time was spent being shown around the workshops talking to people and watching various handicrafts being made, we ...
Mombasa, Kenya antandrel... up his life, yet. We sailed through both the Tanzanian and Kenyan border posts at Lunga Lunga. The Arab had a name. While completing our departure and arrival cards, I peeked over and sneakily copied down the Arabs' name: Mohammedali Hassenali Merali. He was a Kenyan citizen. He overheard me almost rip-off a money changer (I owed them for their previous screwing-me-over) by confusing them with Rand/Zambian Kwacha/Tanzanian Schillings and then ...
Mombassa, Kenya dcm... And that was pretty early in the afternoon! We went back after that, and I'm not quite sure what we did. I think we may have gone out to the beach again. Oh wait, we did. And the guy that kissed my hand the day before found me again and followed me around, so I told him I had a boyfriend (mpenzi, in Kiswahili) in Nairobi ("Nina mpenzi katika Nairobi), but he said that we were in Mombasa, and what happens in Mombasa, stays in Mombasa. He also told me he thought mixed babies ...
Mombasa, Kenya hska... the ferry, after a sweat-dripping trod including three Mombasa matatus. (I regret not getting any photos of the Mombasa matatus. They are possibly the most decorated in all of Afrika. Each one has a theme advertised on the outside with flashy decal stickers. Usually the theme is a cheesy song title, some evangelical proclamation, or a particular musician, but some are pretty smart. Almost all of them have sound systems worth as much as the van itself. Many add ground effects ...
Likoni Island, Kenya cpricci... William, Adieu Amigo, Slammin', No Girl No Tears, etc. So, after bouncing across the dirt roads that serve as the main boulevards of Mombasa, we arrived in Old Town. On our first visit it was rather bewildering. We spent a lot of time wandering around, slightly lost and overwhelmed by the mixed cultures of the city. We were the only white people in a sea of different black tribes. The Islamic presence was rather startling, mosques appeared on every corner and ...
Mombasa, Kenya kaytethegreat... br> gegeten.
