... still morning and it was a gorgeous sunny day. We got some nice iced tea (Taiwan has more tea shops than Seattle has coffee shops!) and followed the surprisingly clear English signage to the Indigenous People's Cultural Park. We did see a butterfly along the way, but unfortunately, it was the only one we saw that day! When we got to the park I was a little worried as some of the signs seemed a little on the tacky side. The high speed rail link from Taipei to the southern most city (on the fast train line) Kaohsiung is so fast that we would have missed the stop, had it not been the end of the line. It’s a very smooth ride and reaches speeds of over 300km per hour; as we were doing the longest journey possible in Taiwan on the fastest possible train, we upgraded our backpacking budget to business class.
