We arrived in Budapest overnight and woke up with their parliament buildings across from us. Now there's something to see!

... some of the historic buildings take on a new light.

Then this morning, we slept in again and the went for a bit of a wander down some of the main shopping streets and generally had a pretty quiet day. Got a late hotel check out (2 pm) and so basically relaxed until it was close to time to meet to get on the boat.

... A km or so later, we joined up with a nice paved path that wound though the outskirts of Ezstergom where lovely homes backed up to the Donau. We opted to continue on an unofficial and rough path in lieu of turning on to the busy road with traffic and uphills. Another bushwhack. The trail dwindled again into a muddy bog. ... but we did it. Matt particularly liked the hot/cold baths that you could alternate between to recover our sore calves. A Hungarian man even commented on Matt's ability to stand the freezing cold whether of which he was pretty chuffed about. After 4 hours of moving between baths, showers, and some attempts at saunas we were feeling so very relaxed. Even when the metro ticket machine swallowed our coins we didn’t care. We were so very relaxed!
