      lots of snacks
      ginger chews
      travelers diarrhea meds
      a few other first aid items
      kleenex to use as TP when not available
      travel size bathroom items (everything in 3 ounce size or smaller and only 2 zip lock bags worth)
      laundry soap
      yarn to knit another pair of socks
      and of course a couple of cameras.

      Eek! Just a few hours left!!!

      Day one to CaySeesItAll! Woah, I've never had a blog before. I feel so official *hairflip*. I'm writing now from the Detroit Metro Airport. First time to the state of Michigan and I must say it's been a beauty. I always venture off to test the waters. I always abruptly approach the locals. I always want to grow more in my travels.       All in all, it was a fantastic trip. There is so much beauty in our country, and I loved the laid back, easy going atmosphere of Wyoming and South Dakota. We met friendly and interesting people wherever we went. If you have the time and patience, I would recommend a cross country trip to any willing traveler. There are beautiful places all over the world to visit, but the U.S. has much to offer in her own backyard.

      ... why I wanted to go, other than I felt God nudging me to go beyond the walls of my comfortable world. The images I had of Haiti before the trip were from the news, their past, the political issues and of course of the 2010 earthquake. What I discovered was nothing short of amazing. Yes there is the dirt and grim but like I said before, the beauty in the people and the surroundings took my breath away and transformed my opinion of the country ...
