      ... city justice but hey, we only had the afternoon. We also went into the arena. What a surprise to climb up into the arena to see a floor and seating and a huge stage set up....sort of spoiled it a bit but at least the arena is still in use and paying its way.       ... Europe with her sister, and this week also with her sister's friend. I had so much fun with them. They arrived a day before I did so they already knew the tips and tricks of the city.

      ... because of the queues and decided to come back in the afternoon. Spend the rest of the morning and lunchtime getting lost, finding an interesting church covered in tintoretto paintings, another with a titian masterpiece and lots of shops selling venetian masks.       ... with the spinach and ricotta tortellini and caprese salad. Both were winning choices and we recommend this little gem with 5 tables to anyone.

      To wrap up the night, we boarded a vaporetto along the Grand Canal for a self-guided tour. Thank you, Rick Steves. Hot, full, and fulfilled, we have now returned to the comforts of our apartment.

      p.s. Do not book the 237 train from Vienna to Venice. Ever.
