        Today we had to get up at 5:30am to catch the boat to the train station to catch the train to Milan. When we got to the train station in Venice we hopped on the super fast train which you had make a reservation for the seats.         ... to queue (with everyone else who is buying their ticket at the gate) to be issued with yet another paper ticket. Time saved? None.

        - Want to buy a drink at interval at the opera? Just go to the bar? No, queue up at a service desk, pay for your drinks, get a ticket and then queue up at bar to get your drink. Not really worth the effort!
