The morning saw lots of rain. We packed up and left camp around 11am and drove into Bled. We donned the waterproof hiking boots and wandered around the lake and town before stopping for a pizza (very Slovenian!). We also tried the famous Bled cream cake (kremna rezina). ... and our first destination was the charming town of Cesky Krumlov with its enormous castle and pastel coloured buildings. We were joined by Kev and Sarah, some NZ friends who are currently living in Brno. ... The receptionist phoned several other hostels near by which were all fully booked again. I was thinking that I would of had to sleep rough again. Luckily she phoned Sax hostel which had beds. The only problem was that it was a 30 minute walk away but in a better location because it was by the river. I reserved my place and set off for the long walk which laid ahead of me.
