Day 5 Shopping at Lippo and Discovery malls.

A travel blog entry by lgbtravels on Dec 29, 2014

    What a day.
We started out heading into Lippo Mall for a look at the new Sketchers shoe shop and then the rest of the Mall.
Left Laurence behind as had forgotten his wallet. He did catch up eventually though.

G ended up with about 10 pairs of shoes and T, who wasn't even there even ended up with a new pair of pink Sketchers. I tried on a few pairs but nothing would fit.

... haggling skills to purchase four tshirts at nearly 50% of the original cost. A mid-morning ice cream (mint and brownie flavours) hit the spot as we waited in the sizzling heat for the boat back to Bali. Our hapless driver proceeded to squash four people on the ...

We especially enjoyed the spring roles which helped all of our hangovers thankfully! On route to the monkey forest we got the opportunity to views the rice plantations a more beautiful side of Bali to the touristy side of Kuta. At the monkey forest a big scary monkey with huge fangs tried to bite Adewa our tour guide ...

... good – a definite disappointment for those who were ready for a change from Indonesian food!

    July 19

We set off for a walk through the nearby rice fields, armed with a rough map copied from a guidebook. The start of it was marked and along the way we saw a few other arrows, but not many. The rice fields were either empty or newly planted like the ones we had seen in Jatiluwih, but not as terraced. We ...

Damp temples, department stores and boardwalk

Draft copy. We had a 40th in the group earlier in the week, today it was the 60th of another member. We took a mini bus to Tanah Lot, a temple on the west coast of Bali. Before arriving there was an outlet store we 'simply had to try'. Who can argue with the birthday girl. Certainly not us and we were rewarded with Alexis buying a wet sac and a pair of zip off pants. It talks about 1 1/2 hours to drive to the temple and there seems to be a multitude of parking options. ...
