... to get fish n chips which were delicious. We laid on the beach for awhile then went into town to check out the little shops. Before Laura left, we stopped at a pub and I bought my first alcoholic drink and didn't even get carded :( I got a cider which was really good. After Laura left, Nicola and I walked around for awhile and sat on the beach before heading back to the hostel.
Once again, we were on the top floor but this hostel ...
So this is where the journey begins....
Sat in the departure lounge waiting for a cheeky Wetherspoons breakfast in a lovely new place called the Red Lion. Thought I better have one last true English breakfast before I head off and have to face the appetising plane food.
Checked in instantly, bags were a little over however the lovely lady let me off and also adjusted my seats to ...
... the end then back down the other side. Loads of fun people watching. Then it was a stroll through town to see the party pad of George IV, the Brighton Pavilion, where he shed the shackles of royalty and let his hair down. It is quite a gaudy building, very suited for its use. The grounds were alive with couples strolling, musicians strumming, folks having their lunch on the lawn and people dressed to the nines for some kind of function. ...
... and sat in a little crowded garden and enjoyed the musical talents of a Tasmanian man who played a strange guitar type instrument. After this sit down I walked the lanes of Brighton and through a food and wine festival where I treated myself to an ice cream.
I headed back towards the seaside and sat on the rocky beach for a while before walking back to my hostel.
Still my room was relatively empty and it was about 5:30 in the afternoon at this time so I decided ...
... There were quite a lot of stories of pilots who had died and they were only 20.
We stopped and had lunch at The White Swan near Arundel and arrived at Brighton about 2pm, so checked in. The room is in a guest house and we have the room at the back down the bottom, which is very cool, so should be a good night sleep tonight.
We had a bit of a rest and then headed down to have a look at the beach. Not what I expected. I knew that ...
