    ... and rock, it apparently a palaeontologists dream! We took some photos and entered the park and visited the National Park Visitor Centre where they were literally in full view uncovering a skull of a dinosaur. Apparently this place is full of them, how cool. Our next stop in the Badlands was the fossil loop. This is a short loop walk. There are fossils encased in display boxes along the way.     ... one in the wild. Unfortunately,no such luck. However, as we reached the high prairie of our sheer climb into the Bighorn Forest, there thew were! Geula spotted 2 cows just off the highway munching on the greens. We parked the car and watched for a while - there was no one else in sight. They were fun to watch, much smaller than their male counterparts, but equally great. Amazing to think that we can spot these large and shy animals ...

    We've reached our destination state. In a few days, we'll be at Mt. Rushmore. In the meantime, we'll explore the eastern and central part of the state. After a long day of driving, we checked in to our room in the SMALL (but capitol) town of Pierre. Not much here, but we did find the American Legion with a great deck right on the Missouri River.     ... the Harry Potter books that we have to tear him away from them to see things. We just got our first glimpse of the snow capped Big Horn mountains way off in the distance.
