... and rock, it apparently a palaeontologists dream! We took some photos and entered the park and visited the National Park Visitor Centre where they were literally in full view uncovering a skull of a dinosaur. Apparently this place is full of them, how cool. Our next stop in the Badlands was the fossil loop. This is a short loop walk. There are fossils encased in display boxes along the way. It was great to drive through and marvel at the rock spires. We've reached our destination state. In a few days, we'll be at Mt. Rushmore. In the meantime, we'll explore the eastern and central part of the state. After a long day of driving, we checked in to our room in the SMALL (but capitol) town of Pierre. Not much here, but we did find the American Legion with a great deck right on the Missouri River.
