Great location and service already make this a stand out hotel, but we were lucky enough to stay in the Hello Kitty Princess suite. What a fantastic memory they made for us, from the wonderful decorations of the room to the extra special Kitty Princess breakfast we had a wonderful stay and made fantastic memories.

All amenities, luxe lounge well worth it and disappointing that it costs about $30 per person for a swim.

Last night we checked the weather forecast. 26 and sunny. We woke this morning to 16 and pouring rain. Something somewhere went wrong. Nonetheless we had made plans for visiting Ueno Park and the variety of cultural attractions. We enjoyed breakfast in the lounge and afterwards made our way to Shinjuku station. We were looking for platform 15 …

Our bookshelves are littered with dozens of biographies, travel literature and 'real-life' adventure stories from the last two hundred years, and yet neither of us could recall a single book we had read that focussed entirely on Japan. Certainly the odd round the world cyclist passing through, but no detailed Bill Bryson-esque expose of the country …

Busted from the game last night, everyone sleeps in until suddenly there's a knock at the door - the cleaning staff are here - it's 10am already?!?! We're checking out of our tiny Shinjuku apartment today and spending our last night in a hotel across the park. There's a whirlwind of crazy as we pack up and get out of the apartment, we're across …

We got up, packed our things and said goodbye to the beautiful city of Kyoto. We had an 11.00am Shinkansen. Japan’s high speed bullet trains offer visitors an experience like no other with speeds reaching up to 320 km/hr! The trains are always on time, the toilets are clean and you get a similar experience as if you are on an internal flight …
