Wow - imagine being here !!!
... a great meal and looking forward to a walking tour of Derry tomorrow. We are staying close to Bogside where many of the "troubles" occurred back in the 70's. Then we are on to the Antrim coast and the Giant's Causeway. Being here is a bit of a bonus as it was not on "MY" agenda - but we are ahead of schedule so have time to do some looking around in what seems to be an interesting city.

Nutty roads & BUSY day but we DID it!
... ummm - what was a turning and what was a driveway caused us to go back and forth a few times down the same 2 km of road "then turn right at the small green mailbox" FINALLY success!! "Go to the end of the boreen" I'll put up a pic of the boreen - basically a cow track!! Gentle Paul and his 5 year old and 3 year old greeted us, made a cuppa and provided fresh cookies. R fell asleep within minutes of stoking the peat fire in our fireplace. Darling, darling ...

The ditillary was interesting andI was assuming we ...
Day 10 - Derry to Omagh

Tensions seem somewhat greater here still than what we felt in Belfast. It is a walled city. The wall was built in the 1600's but this enclosed area was also used in more recent times to keep the Catholics out and to control the people. Derry is a really lovely town and the people are terrific but you can still feel the prejudices ...
Day 9 - Northern Ireland Coast
... 90 miles per hour limit listed along these narrow winding roads as I fancied arriving in one piece at our destination! On one corner, the rock wall encroached into both lanes making the road one car width. Instead of creating the lines up to a certain point then having give way signs they simply continued to run the center line along the road, I wish I'd taken a photo!
We continued along the coast and just before 4pm we reached Carrick-a-Rede, a rope bridge ...
