... out in an air conditioned mall for a few hours. After lunch we spent over 2 hours in the National Museum (well worth the $2 to get in). There are a bunch of Hindu and Buddhist sculptures from various temples around the island of Java, as well as models of the traditional houses from all over Indonesia. Very cool!

... a short rest and tried to sleep. We stopped once more at about 9.30am for yet more food but thought that we would be pretty close to Jakarta as we were past the 12 hour travelling mark (18 hours if you include the 6 hours waiting). The journey went on, and on, and on and we finally made it to Jakarta at 2pm and started to drop off the first passenger (17 hours travelling but really hour 23). Mister, how are you?! This greeting is shouted at us from every street corner when walking around Cianjur. Oh the complicated gender titles of English! If a black person goes into a dark room can you still see them? Yes we really did get asked this one, along with 'If a black person and a white person get married is the baby look like a zebra?' Although these questions seem crazy to us, people here have only ever met SE Asians ...

... and only a handful of local fisherman. If it was flat here we would head south to find more exposed breaks to the swells. Anyway, because of this small surfing window, afternoons were spent getting into trouble in the ocean and around the beach/ was a feeling of being a kid again. Just thinking about his dad, I reckon he would of been as hard as nails doing that job for that long.
