    ... whilst I bought one to replace the pair I left in the hotel at Mantova. Later in the day I also bought a very comfortable pair of sandals – with cork heels.     ... Antalya is 2nd best to Istanbul in my books). I wandered the old city in the morning before the majority of shops were open which was wonderful. The laneways are big enough to take cars, but the old stone buildings and cobblestone roads are beautiful and the streets are full of shops, Pensions (small hotels) and cafes. I encountered a lot of Turkish men sitting outside, trying to get me in to look at their shops. They are harmless enough and rather than ignore them, I tend to say ...

    ... them to eat the dead skin. It does sound really yukky but it felt fine – little tickles and certainly our feet felt smoother afterwards. A further little walk, then lunch and then another walk. We are finding the vendors initially assertive but once it is clear that we don't wish to make a purchase they are actually really friendly – especially to Craig. It is a very MALE population but also secular with strong women.
