and impala kill and another male and female lion were very exciting.
These sightings all happened within thirty minutes of one another....

We had seen the big 5, plus sightings of hyena, crocodiles, a mother
baboon holding her baby, a chemeleon (at night), and ostriches,

Kruger National Park Safari

I flew basically all the way across South Africa 2 days ago to Kruger National Park, which is roughly in the northeast corner of the country near Mozambique. Spent the past 2 days driving around looking for all sorts of game. Have seen pretty much everything including elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests and lots of birds. The most rare things that I have seen have been a black rhino and a sable antelope!

... or at least dip) in whilst out on a walk. Without further ado (ok, maybe a little trepidatious toe dipping went on) we splashed on in, deliciously cool after the initial shock of the cold had worn off.

We spent a magical evening at Klopperfontein waterhole where we settled ourselves down on some rocks with sundowner drinks. As we arrived we spotted lions approaching in the distance, and we waited patiently, lapping up the ...

Day 3 - Safari!

... back in the minibus and lay down. So much stuff was going on that I was missing, on the way we probably saw loads of animals - I genuinely can't remember and at the time did not care. After the sandwich I lay down and we got on the road again. I don't know how long later, I suddenly started to feel better, within literally 2 minutes the pain subsided and I sat up. It was so weird. I started to ...

Big 5 Country - Kruger National Park

... was even better for game viewing. The sheer volume of animals we saw were awesome in the morning - tons of giraffes, zebras, and buffalo. The low morning light was so great and Frank the photographer was very happy. We headed up north and exited the Orpen gate around 10am and said farewell to Kruger park. Thanks to Dave for a most excellent overnight tour to Kruger. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip so far.

... to the camp before it closed we hit a francolin. All I remember is the little guy running out and a puff of feathers coming up in the rear view mirror and I'm still feeling a bit guilty a few month later. Looking at what we saw, it was a big list, but I would never try to drive so far again in one day in Kruger. Our ...

Well maybe i am crazy?!!!!

So Inservice training came and went this past week and it was very emotional trying on me. I was a little confused being around so many Americans. Crazy, huh!!? I am very used to my routine now of going to work, sitting all day, having a small conversation, then going home and locking myself in my room for the evening. It was very difficult for me to have a conversation for ...

Hello

... Oh I am bitter, sorry. One is an East indian shopkeeper that I go to everyday to sit on his couches and relax and have somewhat of a nice conversation, so now he thinks i am going to take him back to America with his wife and child and I will be his second wife. Fat chance!!! My other "husband" is the police officer,Muliwa, that asks for water all the time. Well now he wants to know where I am all the time, and when I am going to go to Johannesburg with him. Well, Big ...
