I came to the conclusion that it might take some more time since they might still live from their provisions. Time will show.

... churches. They had paintings covering the walls & ceilings depicting biblical life. There was no blank walls at all, a bit overbearing really. Most churches dates back to 17/18C. The paintwork/ frescoes in some buildings had never been touched up but still in good condition. There were lots of craft stalls selling Russian handicrafts of wooden dolls, painted trays etc ...
