        ... this morning made up of a more European selection that we are accustomed to, such as cheeses, cucumber, sliced meats and little bread things with either potato or rice on top – both were really yummy and I think they were called Karelian Pies, or Karjalanpiirakat (I had to google that!!) So no Vita Brits in sight …. but I really enjoyed it.

        Finally sitting in the train to Russia.         After a night in a cabin at Antola we tried to do take in a little of Mikkeli but found that we really should have headed straight to Repovesi National park to do a hike because we were over the "city tourist attractions".

        The weather was beautiful and we spent our time taking in the scenery along the way including a slight detour when we found the road we thought would join up, took us to an embankment and the only way out was to reverse about 100 meters to ...

        24 hours ago we were on a coach. There were 30-odd of us and we were all excited and nervous in anticipation of the first England game of the Euros. We all had flags and voices.
