Katari Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Singapore behind me, it was off to the tropical paradise of malaysia. Or so i thought. I hoped on a train that took me from singapore straight to malaysia's capital city KL. I got there fine, got a cab to my hostel. It was called the Pudu international hostel. Its in the middle of china town, and when i arrived it was a culture shock. We gladly departed Penang and took another night train down to Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur. We arrived in Kuala Lumpur mid-afternoon, caught the train to city central and have booked ourselves into the 'Pudu Hostel', and tonight im running around to find a bar where we can watch the mighty english rose to pummel the Welsh!

We caught a 5hr bus ride back to Kuala Lumpur and are back staying in the Pudu Hostel! If you're reading this then could you please send your respect and regards to Mrs Mervynne Mitchell (aka. Granny) as Ronnie, or Grandpa to some, sadly passed away on the 14th February 2006.

After breakfast and internet we sweated our way over to the bus station for our journey onwards into Malaysia. There were some very friendly folk at the bus station and we were soon on our way. We had to pile out of the bus twice for each country's border controls and then again at a fly-infested service station but the trip was pleasant enough and comparatively short. At the Melaka bus station some genuinely friendly Malays gave us their advice about hostels, transport and sights in the city...

We booked ourselves onto the midday bus from the Lavendar bus terminal in Singapore to Kuala Lumpur (known as KL in South East Asia) where we intended to get a quick taste of the Malaysian capital before heading north overland to Thailand. Hi all, reached Kuala Lumpur (KL) now. Went for a wonder, seems full of shopping centers! Our hotel has fantastic views of both the KL tower and Petronas, we went up in price slightly. In a bit of a rush at the mo as trying to look at reviews for buying cameras out here (I think ours is on its way out). Fi: After spending time in the chilly Cameron Highlands, we arrived in Kuala Lumpar, which is like an oven. This entry will be very short as we only spent 1/2 a day here. We stayed in a hostel which was called the 'Pudu hostel'. The room that we had was very basic, and we had to used shared toliets/showers. It was convenient as it was just across the road from the bus station. The shopping is very good here and there is a huge variety. Warren and I had a problem trying to find our shoe sizes....
