      ... out. The beaches were excellent. Soft golden sand, cliffed out views and gorgeous, crystal clear turquoise water. We were spoiled! We hiked over the hill a couple of times to enjoy Kata Noi, an even more beautiful spot. Similar, but with a bit more natural beauty and a more exclusive crowd.       ... After being mocked at home for never knowing any popular reality shows or any of these talent shows, I was pretty impressed that I figured out what was going on from the reactions of the contestants, but mostly the cheers and boos from the kitchen. Most sang in English which was entertaining enough.... The version of Zombie in English with a Thai accent was definitely a highlight. This morning was time to head to Tiger Muay Thai camp.       We're certified divers...to 18 meters! Great relief as I was pretty apprehensive about doing the course in the first place. But as we had already dived a bit in Australia I was sure I'd be fine, especially after a proper course.

      Day 1: theory in the morning and spent the afternoon in a pool. Went through all the skills...we both managed fine. Knackered at the end of the day!

      ... walked far from the Marriott to the Holiday Inn, the beach curved to the outside and left a long distance back to the road we sought. Stopping at a mini-mart for directions to the main road, the clerk said that was about a 15 minute drive by taxi and the walk was far.
