The volcano is still active but has been regarded as dormant since 1950 - the only evidence are the hot springs that gush out and the hot gases that are emitted. The highest point (127 metres) which was no mean feat to reach (took about half an hour to reach) was formed in ...

We made the boys go get the bikes and the girls just chilled by the pool. Soon we heard the guys pulling up and off we went exploring Santorini! ... the top. Spectacular. The island is the remainder of a volcano with a new tip of volcano emerging in the middle of the old crater ( 300 years new ). Onto boats to get to port then into a bus 11 hairpin corners up, up to drive along the island to the village Oia. ( pronounced Air with a wee roll of the R ) now this is everything and more than I anticipated of a Greek island. So incredibly beautiful. White buildings, blue roofs, church domes, blue water below, ...

... a relaxing night after a tough few hours. We woke up the following morning and it was Rowans birthday. That was the day we went to IOS. That was the day the partying really began! IOS We stayed at far out camping in a tent shed fairly similar to our one in Mykonos. The beach at Ios was actually sand instead of rocks, which was really nice :) we spent the days relaxing by the beach and pool but far out beach club was like party central. One night we had all you can eat pizza with ...
