... the port at 4.30, merrymakers were dancing on the tables and the atmosphere was pumping!
Arrived in Santorini, feeling weary after a long day of travel and delivered to our hotel, only to find the agent, when making the booking had booked us into the wrong hotel, ours being on the other side of the island, a 20 minute taxi ride away. By 2 am, we were in bed in our not so glamorous room feeling tired, frustrated and disappointed, ready for battle the next ...

... we went. We are staying at the Melina hotel which, like nearly all the other buildings, is painted fresh white with blue trimmings. It is close to the lovely town centre of Fira on the cliff top with winding streets and spectacular views. The view from the bar looks out over the sea from the cliff top and faces south west - ...

... beside the town of Korfos. It was a lovely little bay, very picturesque and here we had a early and very nice dinner of Greek salad as well as hot rice, baked potatoes and roasted meats. That completed and washed down with free wine (Ruth made sure she got both her and my allowance there) and beers (had to be paid for) the boat headed off at a leisurely pace across to the main island of Thira but at the Oia end.  Oia is the town at the north end ...

... 8230;.the guy told me to get in and I mistakenly opened the door to the drivers seat (opposite side of the car). I quickly realized, but he asked me if I wanted to drive haha

After a much longer than expected taxi ride I finally arrived at our oasis. On the way to dropping me off, the taxi driver did about 4 other trips of people. He kept saying to me… ‘just one minute, they are on the way’. At one point we had 4 dressed up girls squished in the back ...
