Around 90% of Hannover were destroyed during WW2 and when I saw some of
the old houses that remained untouched it really broke my heart as I
could only imagine how pretty this city must have once been.
I hope you will enjoy the (rebuilt) remains as much as I did.

The breakfast was fantastic, too. You could make yourself waffles, or full English breakfast or tomato mozzarella or you could take honey out of a real honeycomb. :-) How cool is that? And you were also given your own newspaper in the morning.
... but the rest of us spent Monday visiting the science museum in Wolsburg - Phaeno - and what a place it was. Not a huge museum, but packed with things for kids and adults alike to enjoy, from revolving rooms, to electric shocks and huge air-cannons to giant smoke rings.
