... and not at all a balcony. Hence needing help climbing.
And then. There are all those people that just annoy the **** out of me. I'm telling you what, "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us." is crossing my mind about 20 times a day. It's like everybody wants to be the first one on the bus, the first one off the bus, the first one in the buffet line, the first one in the signup line, the first one... you get the picture. I keep ...
... in albanian and she got up and went with him. Nuts! Also this man was asleep on a chair near us and he kept hacking up chest stuff and spitting it on the floor. We could have upgraded to a cabin but it would have cost an extra 50 euros so we had to rough it out. And rough is exactly how the see got worse and worse till in the end at like 7am the man came around and gave everyone sick bags we had one between me Katy and Ian and was wondering who was going to use it first ...
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece traceybellePacked our stuff up so happy to leave this hole and went to pay and asked idiot Brian could we have a lift into Corfu town he said that there was no way that he could go until after 12 it was 9am but happily the owner of the hostel was popping in so he gave us a lift there. Oh thank god we got away from there it was making me miserable and ill, Ian found us a little hotel right on the front of Corfu town and its amazing really clean and the first thing ...
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece traceybelle... Brian is not talking to me at all not that I am ***** Ian keep singing the Artic Monkeys song Brian top marks for not trying....so thats making me laugh. He said he works 20 hours a day but all I ever see him doing is sitting around watching the TV. The place could be so lovely if someone just was ***** to give it a brush around and a good bleaching because its in the most amazing spot. Next door is a five star hotel with a swimming pool all ...
Corfu, Ionian Islands, Greece traceybelle... in it a terrace with dirty tables and stuff Ian picked this place because it included breakfast and dinner and he thought that after all this time together we might like to talk to some other travellers. The room Brian took us to had the same sheets on that someone the night before had used and as you cant flush toilet papers down the loo the bin also had lots of used toilet paper in it. The only redeeming feature ...
Corfu, Ionian Islands, Greece traceybelleJust a quick note. Spent a fabulous day on Corfu. This is what you think of when you think of Greece. We rented motor bikes and crusied the island. I will update more when we get back to Rome on Tuesday.
Love to all,
Davo and Janet
Still grey in a.m. Decide to move on: thinking of visiting Corfu, if weather good. En route to ferry port, call in on Dodoni - oldest site of religious worship in Greece. Miraculously, another Euro-free day!Oracle pre-dates Delphi; devoted to both Gaiaa & Zeus. Impressive C3rd BC amphitheatre - capacity of 17,000 - & whole setting very dramatic. Remote, though: you ...
Igoumenitsa, Epirus, Greece marcdolav... of Corfu. The main reason is the lack of access roads to the coast, so getting to the many coves is only possible by water, making it expensive and EXCLUSIVE. I stayed in a very comfortable B & B where the young son brought me food from the family barbecue and made me feel thoroughly at home.
Kassiopi, Greece travellerbruce... rows back. The windows didn't open and there was no air of course. On top of the intense heat the driver played loud Albanian wedding music (think drums) which hurt my head even with earplugs in. On some bits of the road the paving wasn't very good, but the real reason the trip was so slow was the narrow road zig zagged up and over steep mountains. Most of the 5.5 hour trip I just sat and thought how miserable I was. The only highlight was when ...
Gjirokaster, Albania mary_zell... the calm waters. Plastic bottles bob on the waves and everywhere on the land the same plastic bottles along with beer bottles, cigarette packets, sun cream containers and carrier bags clog roadside ditches or overflow from bins along streets.
The closer one gets to the mountain the more peaceful the scene becomes. As we climbed higher on the coastal road, leaving the devastation of Ipsos below us, the ground becomes too rough and sun baked even for the ...
