    ... wine drinker and it was a let down to say the least. I think we are used to more sweet wines in Australia. I met a lovely Indian couple today at breakfast. Mr and Mrs Ube. They were really cool people. He told me he left Goa in India in 1960 and moved to England. Later I met his wife at the laundry. I admired her Indian clothes and said she looked beautiful.     We stopped at the port of Corfu. The only way to really get around the island is to take an excursion. At least it was for us. We were going to see a Monastery in the village of Palaiokastritsa and to the village of Gastouri to visit the 19th century Achilleion Palace.
    The places were very beautiful and again the excursions didn't disappoint ...

    ... to the port entrance. From there we got on another bus to the (main?) bus hub. From there we were informed by an excited gentleman that the, you guessed it, bus to Athens was leaving in a couple of minutes. Hurry hurry hurry! Getting from Patras to Athens was not something I'd planned.     ... we reached Kassiopi which is contrast to the other Corfu spots was quite busy. The main car park was closed so it took a couple of loops around the small town to find a parking space. we wandered into the town eventually finding our way down to the beautiful harbour where we stopped for a very nice lunch - excellent calamari for me ! Post lunch a little shop trawling and some ice creams for the boys and we were off again.

    ... in the airport for a few hours before eventually boarding our flight at 11pm. Arriving back in Manchester at 1am (in the cold and rain), we caught a taxi home and went to bed.
