In Laerdal we joined up with the E16 again, then came to an intersection where we could continue straight along the continuation of the E16 to Oslo, or turn right down the 52 to Oslo via Gol. Since Gol was a town we'd come through on the way to Bergen, I opted to continue along the E16. ... along this waterfront area there are market stalls set up and selling the most amazing array of seafood, both fresh and cooked. You can partake of delicacies from prawns through to whale meat, Norway still being a large consumer of this "politically incorrect" food. Around the fringes of the fish market other stalls are set up selling their specialities, Reindeer burgers ! Moose sausages etc. While all this looks tempting I refrain from sampling any of what's on offer. Doing ...

... out of the bus. So I asked a girl where my stop was and she said through the cemetary! So off I went sloshing by the Graves of Ibsen and Munch(and I saw 'The Scream' by the way and it is one of his worst paintings I think. I don't get it). Over the hill, down the wooded lane, and voila, my hotel. So life is easy here. People have money(not everyone, but a lot are comfortable. You do see homeless people around and Gypsys ...

... heading out of town to the huge Holmenhollen Ski Jump and both turned out to be absolutely amazing. The park was beautiful, a lot of fun to photograph actually, and the statues were really interesting and quite amusing at the same time… I can’t say I fully understand what was going through the artists mind when creating them but nevertheless they were impressive.
