... was just amazing what they found and have been able to preserve on display. They have studied brains and rebuilt faces from the skeletons. They have even given them names even though they don't have records of who was on it. The museum was especially built to fit the ship and there were 5 levels from which to view the ship from top to bottom. The timber on the ship had to be specially treated to preserve it when it came up out of the water. There were many ...

Making our way to the airport is not as daunting as first thought, tram to City railway station, express train from there direct ...

... National Gallery. This was my personal favourite thing we did in Oslo. The gallery is a manageable size and has an excellent range of pictures and sculptures from antiquity to the present day. There is a great showcase of Norwegian artists and some of the pictures of the fjords painted in the 1800s were particularly stunning. This gallery is also home to a world famous collection of paintings by the Norwegian artist Edvard ...

... dying, people near the bottom and young people climbing up and over others near the top. While we really didn’t have the time to look at all of the sculptures in detail, it was very interesting and made us think that we really ought to visit the sculpture garden closer to home in Grand Rapids, MI.

After walking through the garden we got back into the bus for the drive to the Holmenkollen Ski Jump. On the drive we got to see some of the ...
