Day 07 - Pahalgam, Pahalgam, Pahalgam!
... all you can hear is the honking of horns. But between all this honking there are no signs of anger. In fact more often than not a 'vehicular confrontation’ will end with what has to be the Indian equivalent of “What are you up to you cheeky rascal?”. After which both parties will start laughing, get out and share some tea. Okay not sure about the tea.

... allerdings in summe doch eine spur we***** schraeg. die stimmung hat sich dann aber doch wieder beruhigt - jedenfalls ging es dann doch ziemlich lang weiter - mit einer ansprache eines aelteren - wieder musik,... irgendwann hielt ich es dann mehr oder we***** fuer das ende und bin gegangen - mittlerweile war es dunkel - ich glaub ich war zwischen 1,5 und 2h in der kirche. brauchte dann eine bar.

A Rest
... It had been a long 26 hours and we didn't want to go through the hassel of getting a 2nd class ticket, trying to find a sleeper seat, bribing the conductor, blah blah blah. Then we talked to the tourist desk and they said there was a train direct to Mumbai! only 32 hours long! Special train that only runs every week or so. It left the next morning. We're so on it!

Stopover in nondescript Jammu en route to Srinagar
An early start this morning, like 4am, so I could go to the Golden Temple one more time and get some pictures at dawn. Then off to the bus station to catch a bus to Jammu; from there on to Srinagar tomorrow is my plan. There isn't much else of interest in Amritsar to keep me here and it's a typical Indian city in that it is overcrowded, noisy, dirty and polluted.
There isn't anything worth seeing ...
