    Sunday – April 5th

Easter Sunday was our day of rest. It was nice to have breakfast at the Lodge and not need to put on our ski gear and hit the mountain. We hung out at the Lodge for a couple of hours and then explored the town a little more. We walked up to the "top of town" where the cooking onsen is. The local villagers use the cooking onsen to slowly cook vegetables and onsen eggs which ...

They also heat the carriages to the point where it gets hot so we were actually glad to get off at the end and into some fresh air. The place we ate dinner at was very cute. It seats only about 10 people around a bar and you buy a ticket ...

... next to a group of them, they just looked at me and looked away and kept doing what they wanted. I had always wanted to see them with the icicles hanging off their faces and managed to get a photo one who had them, gorgeous. After we had our fill of the monkeys we toddled carefully back down the hill to the Enzo cafe where we had steaming hot bowls of ramen soup with roasted chicken and a coffee. To go with it we ordered a piece of ...
