Terracotta army & another train
Turned out we were both on lower soft sleeper on the way to Xi'an from Shanghai, and the other two people didn't join until 9 so we had the first 2 hours to ourselves. Train wasn't bad, we left at 7pm and got in at 11am.
When we left the train station a woman came up to us and asked where we were going, we said to try and buy more tickets …

... 12 hours on a hard seat...how bad can it really be?
After a public transport disaster we got back onto the program and spent a lovely few hours wandering on the city walls, although they have been regenerated over time they stand as the best condition, longest and most complete city walls in the world (impressive eh). And to us they seemed to go on for miles and miles, but gave us a pleasant view of the city (and its smog!)
