'We live in a beautiful world, yeah we do, yeah we do'' - Coldplay <3
We started the journey at 5am and arrived in Udaipur by 1pm which gave us the whole afternoon to explore the city. We decided to take the sunset boat ride around Lake Pichola and Jagniwas Island which was absolutly beautiful.

We flew into Udaipur from Jodhpur on Kingfisher. It was a short, efficient flight and made a welcome change from the rail journeys.
Once again we got the hotel to collect us from the airport. There was really no option here as the airport is around 30 miles away from the town. The driving here seemed to be even worse perhaps because we …
After Kumbhalgarh fort, we drive to Udaipur, our final destination before going back to Delhi.
We cannot believe our travels in India are nearly over. Sean is already planning what he will visit when he comes back.We walk around the city a little bit and manage to miss sunset, yet again. It does not matter because we found a cheap laundry shop …
... magnificent building. From there to lunch & off to an art galley. The marble in this place is unreal. There are all colours of marble slabs for sale. Makes you want to take home a shipping container load. The streets here in the old city are very narrow & it has a Greek feel. The cars running up & down the streets have to dodge the donkeys, cows, monkeys, tuk tuks, motor bikes, ...
Today we planned to visit the city palace home to kings of the past. Historical Traveler Reviews Mewar Haveli Udaipur
From the moment we arrived at the Mewar we were treated like royalty. Our bags were taken straight to our room and there was no expectations regarding a tip. The owner then helped us book all our other hotels around India with a substantial discount! Great location and great food to top it off!
What a wonderful choice the Mawar haveli was for us when we stayed in Udaipur. It was one of the best places we stayed in our eight weeks in India.
Budget hotel with five star service! We were not expecting so much for so little, but the staff is GREAT. The rooms and hotel immaculately clean and beautiful. Great location as well. DEFINITELY stay here. The artwork and other little touches and the great concierge and even the housekeeping staff make the difference.
Highly recommended: great location, service
The hotel was recommended to us by the sister hotel, which was full. We found the reception very responsive to our every need, the room was small but charming and very clean and the location is fanatastic. Not only are there great views of the lake from top floors, but it is only a 5 minute walk to City Palace (the city's major attraction). Reception got us a cab for our early morning flight and had someone on hand to see us out at 6 am.
This was one of the best price/ value hotels we have ever stayed in and we highly recommend it to others.
A lovely hotel, contacted through the Jagat Niwas Palace Hotel, which was full, this is its sister operation. It is situated centrally, in a quiet street, the entrance is appealing, with fresh paint and stained glass and murals on the walls. The staff were all very friendly and remembered our names. There is a travel/internet place connected to it with a small shop selling gifts and food. The restaurant has wonderful views of the floating palace from tables or cushioned areas. We only had breakfast here which was average. We stayed in 2 different rooms, the first with a view of the lake, the second room was on a lower floor so no view of the lake but nothing terrible either. The rooms were very clean, with white sheets and towels, and stocked with plenty of soap and toilet paper. They are simply furnished with some stylish touches like small murals and stained glass. The a/c units were new and worked well. The lake view room was a deluxe and cost IR1500, the other was a superior and cost IR1250, both plus 8% tax.
We stayed at Hotel Mewar Haveli for 2 nights and it was a wonderful experience.
Good place to stay
mewar haveli is a new hotel in udaipur. the room was the cleanest we have seen in india. the air condition was the more recent one we saw. There is probably the best view on the lake of the city. it's quiet. only one bad point: it's really long to wait for food and breakfast, around 45 min/one hour which is a problem when you have a bus to take!!! we missed our bus because of them.
