We went down a little & then jumped overboard to do some snorkeling. Water temp again divine & saw hundreds of small bright green fish with a black strip. You actually jumped into the water that was full of them. Saw big clams, coral, another beautiful big purple fish with bright orange lips & a green stripe. When I had enough of snorkeling I floated around in my life jacket

... Thai lunch alongside the river bank. As we dined, we watched elephants meander about across the river. There was also a manic monkey that was locked up in a cage that bounced around like a spaz. The elephants were far more entertaining, especially since there was a baby elephant that followed its mama around everywhere. I discovered a new found compassion for elephants as I watched them and later got to ride one! Before ...

... became choppy ...it literally bounced and smashed down on the waves really ******** our last day we booked an elephant trek...unfortunately i was really ill the night before that we had to cancel. I was quite dissappointed about it but we are hoping to do something similar in Bali. I think i will miss thailands friendly people and food, but wont miss the constant hounding by tailors...so if you want a cheap tailored suit i reckommend you head to thailand!!

... meal in Phuket. Then upstairs to watch the much touted Jungceylon Laser and Water Fountain Show. We find seats front and centre as it's not crowded I get soft serve cones from KFC. Dad wanders off, not the least bit interested in the show. The show starts. We get sprayed with fountain water and all we can hear is "Jungceylon....Jungceylon...Jungceylon. ..", we can't make out the holographs so get up and leave after 5 minutes. We find Dad ...

... for two months although they are only 2 weeks into their trip. We went for dinner with them the last two nights and it was great to escape and head up the island for some good food and drink! We have been jointly fantasising about sausages and proper bread, but luckily we hope to get some of that real soon. So we are heading home today, waiting for our boat. Only 3 long flights to go. Again it's good, and accompanied by a strange chinese martial arts soap opera on the TV. We pay the bill, which amounts to so little that the only logical conclusion is that it was miscalculated. We even leave a tip - thats a first. And the eleven year old girl looks like Christmas has come ...

... ever been. It hands down beats out las vegas and new orleans. So many young thai girls with old men and others attempting to be. I was in tears for these poor girls as we walked down the main street at night, they really must feel that they have no other options. Despite patong city we enjoyed our outing to Kata beach. Swimming in the warm clear blue water of the Andaman sea was heaven, Kata beach goes down as one of my favorites on this trip.
