I was absolutely amazed by the Oldehove and felt like a child in a candy store once arrived on the International airport of Leeuwarden. ... and people come and stay here, or schools visit. My chores are mainly landscaping/weeding, but it is nice to be out in the sun (even though its HOT). My (Canadian) family arrives in a little over two weeks, I cannot believe it. Also Im hoping our guitalele duo will be reunited in Amsterdam!
My Dutch family is now watching the World Cup game - Netherlands vs. Chile. I heard them cheering, maybe they scored a goal? ;)

Today was a long driving day. We had to pack and clean which always takes longer than expected so we didn't leave until 9:30. We enjoyed another visit from the kitten. He wandered into our place as we had the door opened, so the kids enjoyed playing with him while we packed. We drove away, stopped for a few photos to try and capture the town and farmhouses. ... around the lock area, saw some more Lemsteraak sail boats and had coffee.
Oh and ... yes we saw a lighthouse. But it is a replica.
The lighthouse was originally built in 1887 and demolished in 1968. This 1993 replica was built for a film and now stands on the pier.
Amazing how cheeky sparrows are. The cleaned up the plate on the table next to us. And they had a go at Mama's cream. I think they would have taken crumbs from our fingers, they were that tame. ...
... week. The group is very friendly and mostly ride at a similar pace. Most meals we cook ourselves and Sietze has arranged excellent group accommodation. It's Greg and my turn to cook tonight and he is shopping on their way back, chicken curry hopefully, but it just depends on what's available. Hope everyone is going well Cheers ...
